The Brigand's Code

Twelve places. Four Seals. A story to be pieced together.

A passport to discover San Donato Val di Comino through the places that shaped its history.

Reach out to them. Really see them. Leave your mark.

01 — The story

A different way to experience San Donato Val di Comino

The Brigand's Code is a different way to discover San Donato Val di Comino through places, stories, missions, and tracks to follow.

It's not a game superimposed on the village: it's already hidden within its stones. Doors, towers, shops, and alleys hold fragments of a larger story, and the Passport is the tool to piece it together, one stamp at a time.

02 — The Passport

Twelve places in the village hold twelve stamps

The first is just a few minutes away. Reach them, really see them, leave your mark: each place you discover is a notch in your Passport, each completed Passport is a piece of reconstructed history.

Location 01 / 12

Castle Gate

The entrance to the oldest part of the village.

Location 02 / 12

Those arriving along the ancient Via Marsicana passed through here.

Location 03 / 12

Three of the twelve locations in the Codex. The other nine are discovered one stamp at a time, inside the Passport.

03 — The Four Families

Three different places, three fragments of the same story

Seal · Origins · 0/3

The Tower. Gateway to the East. The Origins' Gate.

04 — The Seals

A narrative milestone, not a prize

Before the squares, the houses, and the streets, there was a castle on the mountain. Three different places, three fragments of the same story: once you've stamped them all, the Seal will enter your Codex.

Each family—Origin, Village, Community, Memory, and Territory—contains three places. Completing them all recomposes the Seal: confirmation of having seen, and understood, a true part of the village.

05 — The Missions

History always comes before mechanics

Mission 04 · The Village Gates

There are still gates that divide the village of today from that of centuries ago.

Castle Gate. East Gate. Clock Gate.

This time, the mission is simple: reach all three. But don't just walk under them. Look for the stone hinges. Observe the shapes of the arches. At Porta Orologio, try to find three small engraved crosses.

Once you are there, open your passport and leave your stamp.

07 — Notches and advantages

Something changes when you come back

The Code remembers the stays, experiences, and stories you've collected. Over time, your level and the benefits you find awaiting you change.

Every experience leaves a trace—a stay, a place found, a completed Mission. In the Codex, they become Notches: the more you collect, the more your path changes.

Benefits, in short
  • Early check-in and late check-out, according to the level
  • Growing discounts on experiences and services
  • Priority assistance and exclusive rewards
08 — Frequently Asked Questions

The regulation, in brief

Do the notches expire?

Spendable notches expire after 36 consecutive months of inactivity. Qualifying notches are calculated over the last 24 months and determine your tier.

Can I transfer the notches?

No. The notches are not transferable or redeemable for cash. They can be used to redeem available rewards or, where applicable, donated to local initiatives.

Do quests level me up?

Not directly. Missions, stamps, and referrals increase your spendable balance; your level increases with stays and qualifying notches earned from nights, services, and experiences.

Why do we need GPS?

Location is only used when you timestamp a location to verify that you're actually there. It shouldn't be used to track your movements.

The living room doesn't end at the door.

From the Refuge, The Brigand's Code begins, a digital passport to discover San Donato through places, stories, and missions.
