The residence

A place that encapsulates the history and culture of our land. A refuge from the frenetic city life. While maintaining the character of a home, it offers luxury hotel-level amenities and antique-modern finishes.

Where history, memory and hospitality meet

In the heart of the medieval village of San Donato Val di Comino, the Rifugio dei Briganti (Brigands' Refuge) is located in a land traversed for centuries by travelers, merchants, and bandits. Legendary bands such as Marco Sciarra's passed through these places, while among the most fascinating figures in local history is Rosa Cedrone, a female bandit who fought bravely alongside her companion.

Today this house preserves the charm of that past and transforms it into a place of welcome and tranquility, where the story of the area continues to live among the stones of the village and the silence of the mountain.

A house that holds stories

The Brigands' Refuge was born from the restoration of a house in the historic center, where the character of the ancient village houses has been carefully preserved.

The rooms tell the story of the area through small details: period furnishings, objects linked to local tradition, and natural materials that interact with the original structure of the house.

It's not a place built to look ancient: it's a house that has stood the test of time and that today welcomes travelers with the same authenticity as always.

The spaces of the house

The rooms of the Refuge are designed to make guests feel at home.

The kitchen, with its rustic yet convivial style, is a space where you can prepare a meal, drink a coffee, or simply stop and chat after a day spent wandering the village streets or hiking the mountain trails.

The simple and functional bathroom offers everything you need to relax after a day of exploring.

Every space in the house is designed to accompany the stay with discretion and comfort, without ever losing the authentic character of the home.

The silence of the mountain, the soul of the village

The rooms

The rooms of the Refuge are named after figures linked to the history of local banditry.

The bright and spacious Room of the Brigand Chiavone pays homage to Luigi Alonzi, one of the most famous protagonists of the events of these mountains.

The more intimate Room of the Brigandess Cedrone recalls the figure of Rosa Cedrone, a determined and courageous woman who became part of the legend of brigandage.

Each room is designed as a small refuge where you can rest, read, write, or simply let yourself be enveloped by the silence of the village.
