Cascata Grande

This marvellous tourist attraction is formed by the left arm of the Liri river and rises about 27 metres high.

The town centre of Isola del Liri is built on an island formed by the Liri River, which forks into two arms: the left arm, which forms the Cascata Grande, and the right arm, which forms the Cascata del Valcatoio. The latter is less spectacular than the Cascata Grande, as its waters are captured to feed an electricity production plant.

The Cascata di Isola del Liri was recently proclaimed 2nd among the ten natural wonders of Italy by Skyscanner, a tourism platform. This makes it a very popular tourist destination, offering visitors the chance to admire the natural beauty of a waterfall located right in the centre of a city.
